Continuous Recruitment
Due to our ever-expanding needs, we occasionally will open positions for continuous recruiting in order to be prepared to hire individuals into select job opportunities, or to obtain a readily available source of qualified applicants ready for our hiring processes. Important Information
Here are some additional links to helpful and useful information regarding your interest in North County Community Services.
Interviews
Please be on time and prepared to respond to a variety of questions aimed at assessing numerous aspects of your experience, training, skills, knowledge, decision making, adaptation and other elements of job preparation asked by our trained interviewers.
If you are successful at receiving a contingent employment offer, you will then be scheduled for a work function examination, background check and other pre-employment requirements to be competed before final employment can be confirmed. Once confirmed, new hires are required to attend a comprehensive orientation program to enhance each persons opportunity for a successful adaptation to their new job, work location, our organization, expectations and working conditions.
Thereafter, each newly hired employee serves a three (3) month Introductory Period during which they will receive more specific and focused training, guidance, support, observation and evaluation.
Pay Practices
NCCS evaluates each of our jobs annually based on regional data compiled by comparable non-profit organizations.
While our Board of Directors mandated goal is to be one of the best paying service agencies of its kind in San Diego County, we must also adapt to funding constraints from supporting public and private sources. Too, we consider Total Compensation (pay + benefits) when comparing to other similar organization.
Pay Periods
NCCS has adopted a semi-monthly pay period plan whereby pay periods run from the 1st to the 15th, and the 16th to the last day of each month with paydays occurring on the following 10th and 26th of each month.

The following are the annual holidays recognized by NCCS. Other details of holiday pay are included in the Agencys orientation and Employee Handbook.

Paid Time Off
NCCS offers to eligible employees paid time off (PTO).
PTO may be used for vacations, sick leave, personal appointments, family matters, a dependents school activities, religious observances and the like.
Medical, Life and Dental
Eligible employees may enroll in the Agencys medical, life and dental plans on the first of the month following successful completion of their three (3) month Introductory Period.
Medical benefits provide comprehensive medical, health, emergency, and prescription drug services. Dental, vision, and life insurance are also available to eligible employees.
Health Savings Account
In 2009 NCCS has adopted a Health Savings Account (HSA) plan to safeguard financial hardships by eligible employees who experience a costly medical condition in light of high deductible health plans.
Under the combined medical & HSA plans, NCCS places a pre-determined amount each pay period into the employee's HSA, and employees are encouraged to contribute a similar amount on a pre-tax basis.
HSA funds can be used by each eligible employee for such medically related needs as doctor office visits, co-pay cost for lab or radiology work, medical devises, prescription medication, and the like.
Retirement Savings
NCCS has adopted a Simple Individual Retirement Account (Simple IRA) as the retirement savings method used by the Agency.
The Agency makes a fixed contribution to each eligible employees account and encourages participating employees to use payroll deduction to contribute a portion of their earnings to their account on a pre-tax basis.
